In 2020, it will be 100 years ago that Armand Durot started his career in shipping as line manager for Johnson Line — Rederi Aktiebolaget Nordsjernan AS, with their local agent in Antwerp. A century of family tradition and now the 4th generation of the Durot Family is managing the shipping company under the “Boeckmans” Banner !

Below a photo of three Johnson Line vessels lined up for loading/discharging cargoes to and from South America at the river Scheldt quay side in Antwerp. The pictured reduced model shows the m/v Amazonas of Johnson, the first vessel of the line to call Antwerp after the second world war in 1945. The vessel berthed at Schelde Quay 21, in the shade of the “Cathedral “ and the ‘Boerentoren’.

Boeckmans has grown since into a shipping company with activities in ship owning, ship management, chartering, ship agencies and logistics.
